Injury

swollen_kneeOf course I play softball. And I was playing last weekend, and I hurt myself. The fields were wet, and we probably should not have been playing, but we did. So I’m coming up on this fly ball, timing just right so I have a good running head start (we’re only down 12 runs at this point, gotta keep the game respectable) and just as the ball hits my glove… CRRRUNCH. POP. Ugh, dropped the ball. Threw it in to second base, and all I can do is stand there with my hands on my knees bent over at the waist. I did stay in the field for one more batter before deciding there was no way I could be of any use. I didn’t once cry for my mommy, or even squeal like a little girl.

So I go to the ER, really for no good reason except to get some crutches and a knee brace. They take x-rays, and nothing is broken. Yes, I knew that. I’ve had surgery on this knee 15 years ago. They tell me it’s just a strain. 4 days later and still hobbling around (no crutches or brace after the first day, they’re worthless) I go to the orthopedic. He twists and pulls on my leg a bit, determines it’s not the ACL again, and not the MCL (my inner knee hurts), but it may be the meniscus or cartilage problems from the injury 15 years ago.  I took another x-ray (standing this time) so he could check on joint. I gotta call and see how that turned out.

Anyway, baby girl is due in 11 days, probably won’t be posting again for a while! Stay trashy and get more tattoos!
